Matthew B. Rowe  
is the Founder and Executive Director of WinTheGWOT.org
 

He served eight of his eleven years in the US Army with the Special Forces and has experience around the world.  While assigned to the 7th Special Forces Group, he advised the military and police forces of various countries during the “drug war” in Latin America.  In this capacity, he has worked to counter both local insurgencies and the narco-traffickers threatening political stability, while simultaneously promoting Human Rights, the Rights of the Accused, and government accountability.  Prior to joining the Special Forces, he spent three years as a Military Policeman including an assignment to the 82nd Airborne Division.  

After receiving his Honorable Discharge, he was a security consultant to the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games and later a Venue Security Manager for the 1996 Olympic Beach Volleyball competition.  He graduated magna cum laude with a BS in Government from Campbell University and later earned his MBA from the Mendoza College at the University of Notre Dame.  

He is a highly experienced business management consultant and change agent who has worked for General Electric and other large US corporations.  His focus has been on cross-functional business operations and in implementing and directing various Lean Six-Sigma business and process improvement programs.

He has continued his study of insurgent warfare and terrorism and has provided research and other papers pertaining to counterinsurgency to various members of Congress and the Senate.  He has also completed a manuscript for a novel about his experience as a Green Beret in Latin America .

Terrence J. Daly 
is
a regular contributor to WinTheGWOT.org as well as other major newspapers and professional military journals  

He is a counterinsurgency, national security, and foreign policy specialist with over 30 years experience in many of the world’s critical political arenas, including time spent as a province level advisor to COIN programs in Vietnam .  He is also an Asia expert with broad experience in key Pacific Rim Countries and has extensive consulting and advisory expertise in Washington D.C.  

From 1964 until retirement in 1993, and on a part time basis ever since, he has held various positions in the national security and foreign policy field.  He has met regularly with host country officials in different parts of the world to plan and conduct projects of mutual interest; included a highest level political action campaign that significantly advanced major US interests and Human Rights, and reduced conflict in an important region.

He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel, Military Intelligence (MI) Branch, US Army Reserves, serving from from 1959 to 1998.  He served as an Active Duty small unit leader and staff officer from 1960-62. Terry's military education includes the Command and General Staff College, MI Officers Basic and Advanced Courses, Infantry Officers Basic Course, and Airborne Training.

He has a BA in Journalism from the University of Notre Dame, and his postgraduate studies at Duke University focused on Military and British Commonwealth History.

 

Daniela "Dina" Ferchmin 
is the Editor and Co-Founder of WinTheGWOT.org

She is a 1992 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and majored in Systems Engineering and International Relations.  She is a decorated paratrooper who served with the 82d Airborne Division as a Platoon Leader, Battalion Administrative Officer, and Company Executive Officer earning the rank of Captain. While on active duty, Daniela served with distinction for over a year in Bosnia and Croatia with NATO's initial peace keeping mission in the Balkans (IFOR).  Her international relations experience, organizational skills, and fluency in the multiple languages of the region made her a vital coordinating officer for that mission and especially during the first ever democratic elections in Bosnia.  Daniela has since been a manager and business process improvement leader at General Electric and is highly active in other important social justice causes.
